Los Suenos Resort and Marina

Located on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, Los Suenos Resort and Marina is a haven for boaters, beach lovers and fishermen, and it is also a true tropical paradise. Of the resort’s 1,100 acres, 600 of them are preserved as tropical rainforest. That includes 200 acres that were carefully reforested under the supervision of a local biologist when the resort was getting started in the late 1990s after the property’s prior use as a cattle farm. You’ll get more than a touch of the rainforest experience when you play the beautiful Ted Robinson, Jr.- designed La Iguana golf course. The forecaddies are specially trained to point out more than 150 species of wildlife that inhabit the course, including monkeys, three-toed sloths, colorful toucans, and macaws.

But Los Suenos is perhaps even better known for the undersea life offshore that attracts sport fishermen from all over. The neighboring ocean is known as one of the top billfish fisheries in the world, and also has an abundance of yellowfin tuna and dorado. The focal point of the resort is a marina with 200 wet slips that can accommodate boats up to 180 feet, along with 100 dry slips. There is also a charter fleet that can take residents and guests on fishing trips. The Marina Village is a thriving commercial center featuring various stores and fine dining. Residents can also enjoy a $3 million Beach Club, with free-form pool and Jacuzzi, expansive decks, a swim-up bar, and elevated white sand beach with shade palapas and spectacular views of Herradura Bay and the marina.

The residential component of Los Suenos is going strong, with more than 500 residences completed out of an eventual total of 1,000. That includes a variety of condominiums and single-family homes, all whole ownership. The newest luxury communities, overlooking the Pacific, are the Vista Bahia condominium units and Vista del Sol residences. Completing the abundant picture is the Marriott Ocean and Golf Resort Hotel, with its magnificent colonial architecture and featuring six restaurants and lounges in magnificent settings.
